The manual ,in roughly 400 pages, presents trauma in a very practical way. Each chapter starts with introduction followed by operative tips .Chapters on Lung injury Trachea/Bronchus& Esophagus are particularly unique with clear pictures and diagrams. What make the book more attractive is the clear description of techniques and different algorithms / options facing the trauma surgeon.I liked in particular the detailed discussion in Liver injury and chapters on Trauma Endovascular Management as well as Timing of Ortho interventions/principles of Damage Control Ortho.As a trauma fellow, I found the manual very useful during my daily calls especially the time between operations.

About the Author
Sema Onat earned her illumination diploma after being trained for many years in the art of Turkish illumination. Focusing on drawing techniques, illumination motifs, floral ornamentation, and miniatures, Onat completed her specialty courses in 2009. She now gives illumination lessons from her workshops in Istanbul. She has organized various projects with her students, and has participated in many exhibitions, both domestically and abroad. Her works have also been displayed in many private collections, and she has received several prestigious awards in classical illumination and miniature arts, including accreditation from the Turkish Ministry of Culture as an official artist, which is given to select individuals of outstanding achievement in art.

I like the way the book is layed out. It is easy to follow. The points of grammar match the conversations in each lessons. There are exercises using the CDs which allow you the chance to practice speaking. The vocabulary consists of those words that you need for everyday life. You get what you pay for and I feel I got my moneys worth.

A wonderful retelling and we LOVE the illustrations!

I was looking for a book about teddy bears to go along with an upcoming teddy bear picnic I am hosting for my preschooler and his friends. I looked at the other books of the same title available on Amazon (ones that have been on the market longer than this one) and wasn't crazy about their illustrations or their text.

If you are familiar with the original lyrics of the old song (originally from the early 1900s) you know they include the verse:
"If you go down to the woods today
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely down in the woods today
But safer to stay at home."
I was glad to see that verse was not included in this particular retelling as I always found it to be a bit creepy.

I wouldn't have minded if they had left in the parts that say:

"Beneath the trees where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please
Cause that's the way the teddy bears have their picnic."

And

"See them gaily gad about
They love to play and shout;
They never have any cares"

as I find those lines quite sweet :-)

The illustrations are all happy and sweet...smiling kids in bear costumes, bears flying kites and airplanes, driving cars, picnicking on fruits and sweets, playing tic-tac-toe, etc.

At the end of the book are the lyrics as well as a QR Code linking to an MP3 of the song so you can hear it sung along with the book. There is a glossary and guided reading activities as well. (See pictures attached...sorry about the glare!)

I am very pleased with Cantata Learning song books (this is my first one) and I will probably be buying more!
